POST 16 – COMING SOON!
Post16 Vocational Package For Learners With EHCPs
Fast Forward’s Post-16 Vocational Package is a bespoke, multi-qualification programme designed specifically for learners with EHCPs. The programme provides a hands-on, supportive pathway that equips students with the skills, independence, confidence, and employability behaviours they need to thrive in adulthood. Delivered in partnership with Team Sport, learners benefit from inclusive, state-of-the-art facilities and a structured environment tailored to individual needs, helping them bridge the gap between school, further education, and employment.
Programme Structure and Curriculum Overview
The programme combines vocational qualifications, functional skills, career progression, and personal development to offer a holistic learning experience.
Career Progression
Through the Level 2 Award in Career Progression, learners develop essential skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, problem-solving, and time management. This subject provides practical experience and prepares students for further education, apprenticeships, or direct employment opportunities.
Vocational Pathway
Vocational learning is at the core of the programme. Students engage in Level 1 Business Studies and Level 1 Motor Vehicle Studies courses, gaining practical, hands-on skills in their chosen pathways. These qualifications equip learners with real-world competencies, from customer service and basic administration to vehicle inspection, maintenance, and workshop safety. Opportunities for termly on-site work experience and employer engagement ensure learners develop employability skills and gain insight into future career options.
Functional Skills
Functional Skills in English and Maths are embedded throughout the programme and taught in real-life contexts such as CV writing, budgeting, reading bills, workplace communication, and managing personal responsibilities. This approach strengthens independence, confidence, and readiness for work, while also preparing learners for adulthood by developing the practical and academic skills needed to manage daily life, make informed decisions, and navigate future education, training, and employment opportunities.
PSHE
Personal development is equally prioritised through PSHE (Personal, Social, Health & Emotional Learning). Delivered in a calm, supportive environment, this element of the programme embeds SEMH support and restorative approaches, helping learners build resilience, confidence, and emotional wellbeing. It ensures students gain the social, emotional, and mental tools needed to navigate adulthood successfully.
Structured Daily Format for Maximum Engagement
Each training day is deliberately structured to balance knowledge development, practical application, and motivational engagement.
Morning Theory Session
Students begin with focused classroom-based learning, introducing key concepts, terminology, and underpinning knowledge needed for safe and effective vocational practice. Teaching is interactive and accessible, supporting learners of all ability levels.
Afternoon Hands-On Workshop
Learners apply their knowledge in practical settings. In the motor vehicle workshop, students use industry-standard tools to carry out mechanical tasks and maintenance. Business studies learners participate in role-play and shadowing, experiencing front-of-house operations, customer service, and till use. Applied learning reinforces understanding, builds confidence, and develops real-world vocational skills.
PSHE Session (Safe Space for Personal Development)
Each day includes time for guided PSHE discussions, where learners explore topics such as emotional wellbeing, resilience, and safe choices around drug and alcohol use. The sessions create a supportive environment for difficult conversations, helping students develop social-emotional and coping skills.
Enrichment
The week concludes with Track Time, a structured, supervised reward session that motivates learners by linking effort, behaviour, and engagement to positive experiences. Activities reinforce teamwork, responsibility, and self-discipline while providing an enjoyable and goal-oriented reward. Where learners do not wish to partake in karting we will tailor enrichment to their interests.
