This course is a nationally recognised qualification designed to help learners overcome barriers to education and successfully move forward into further learning, training or employment.
This programme is particularly effective for students who require a more personalised, supportive and confidence-building approach to education. It provides a structured yet flexible curriculum that allows learners to explore key employability and life skills in a way that is accessible, engaging and relevant to their future.
Programme Aims
The primary aim of the Qualification in Progression is to equip learners with a broad and practical set of knowledge, understanding and transferable skills that prepare them for their next stage.
The course focuses on:
Developing employability skills
Improving communication and teamwork
Building self-confidence and personal responsibility
Encouraging positive attitudes towards learning and work
Supporting progression into further education, apprenticeships or vocational pathways
Units Delivered
Learners complete carefully selected units that directly support personal development and workplace readiness.
Customer Service
Students develop an understanding of professional behaviour, communication with customers, handling enquiries and representing an organisation positively. This unit strengthens confidence, presentation skills and interpersonal awareness — all essential for employment across sectors.
Preparing for Work
Learners explore what employers expect, workplace conduct, punctuality, reliability and basic employability behaviours. They gain insight into job roles, application processes and the skills needed to sustain employment.
Group and Teamwork Communication
This unit focuses on developing collaborative skills, listening techniques, clear communication and working effectively with others. Students learn how to contribute positively within a team, resolve conflict appropriately and build mutual respect.
Structured and Supportive Delivery
Each session follows a clear and consistent structure to maximise engagement and build routine:
1. Guided Theory and Discussion
Interactive classroom-based learning introduces key concepts in a supportive and accessible way.
2. Practical Activities, Scenario-Based Learning and Hands-on Workshop Experience.
Learners apply knowledge through role play, group tasks, real-life scenarios and problem-solving activities, ensuring learning is active rather than purely academic.
3. Track Time (Incentivised Engagement Session)
The final element of the day is structured “track time.” This serves as a motivational reward linked to effort, behaviour and engagement throughout the session. It provides students with a positive goal to work towards while further strengthening their interests and understanding.
